Hi All I contacted Ravensburger about Invention submissions
this is the link to the company that deal with them, Hope this is of help to someone
www.projekt-spiel.com
THE GOOD NEWS IS this is the reply I received
Thank you for your recent enquiry.
Ravensburger has appointed an agency to evaluate new ideas from game
inventors as this is the most effective way to process the multitude
of submissions received.
There is a fee involved for this service for which you will receive
an extensive report from the agency detailing their findings.
In the event that your submission is selected for development all
further negotiations will be with Ravensburger GMBH directly.
Please visit the agency's website: www.projekt-spiel.com for detailed
information on the evaluation process.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems that their is maybe a shift towards dealing with inventers direct.
I know that Ravensburger used Cactus Marketing ( a licencing Agent ) to evaluate submissions as I had one of my projects presented to them by Cactus ( that is not to say that they don't now )
However it is refreshing and good news for us inventors, whilst I appreciate Professional Licencing agents may be able to present and negotiate a better financial outcome.
I do question ( in my opinion ) whether certain projects take priority over others because of the financial outcome whilst others collect dust on the shelves, also if other major toy companies followed Ravensburger's approach we would all benefit as the licencing percentage could be reduced because we don't have to pay 40 - 60 % to the licencing agent.
I hope you all find this thread useful and will join me in writing an odd letter to the major manufactures asking if they in the future Intend to use a submissions agent In the same way Ravensburger have chosen to do,then negotiate directly with a successful Inventor who can offer a better percentage rather than a licencing agent ( I wonder If we can promote a change for the better )
Good Luck and Hats off to Ravensburger
