First of all, thank you all for your contributions & for this forum!! I'm a first timer, total newbie to the toy bizz realm! I live in the U.S. , have obtained a provisional patent, made a simple prototype & many nice drawings of my bath toy idea (how it works, etc.), done my age group research, & purchase/ demographic homework, among other things. I've signed Spinmaster's confidentiality form (Lyndsay & Ben have been very nice so far)... & expect they'll take a look soon. If it's a "no thank you"... does any one know of other reputable companies who might be open to a (plastic, interactive) bath toy for the 18 month +, age group? P.S. As a "newbie", I found the book, "The Toy and Game Inventors Handbook" by Levy & Weingartner (Alpha) pretty good. Sincerely, Bsplash

Fisher Price would be my first choice. Spinmaster will most definitely not be interested. You will need an agent for fisher price.
I would be happy to present it to them if I think it is good enough to warrant a deal. If I don't think it is good enough I will not show them ( I have to maintain a good image) but I will tell you what needs improvement.
One thing is for sure, you must have the best prototype and design that you can afford.

Hi Bathsplash,
I would go along with that suggestion. Fischer Price would be as good a starting point as anywhere for now. I am aware of a company who make the aquaduct bath toy but don't have the full details to hand so will post in due course. I will have a think and get a list of others who make bath toy lines...
Cheers,
Inventoy.

Thank you both for the quick reply & offers of help. ALEX makes many good bath toys, so I contacted them & they said, "send us your idea ..then...we'll send you a NDS...should I trust them?

Hi Bathsplash,
I have heard that ALEX are a good company to work with however it does seem weird that they have said send the idea then they will send an NDS (non disclosure??). The normal procedure is to get a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) also known as a confidentiality agreement signed before showing and details about your idea. I would question this before sending just to be on the safe side...
Cheers

Inventoy, Thank you again for your thoughts...(deeply grateful!). Yes, I spoke to the ALEX product development coordinator, Raeann Laratro & she said that Mrs. Amdur sees so many ideas that she didn't want to send a NDA out unless the idea seemed good. This struck me as totally backwards. But that was the only "rational" offered. I have a provisional patent, but that's only good for one year...yikes. As yet Alex is the closest in 'style' to my idea. Fisher Price & the Playskool line seem kind of big & 'klunky' compared to my toy which is a little more 'streamlined'. I would love to hear of any other companies which you consider appropriate. Again, many thanks from this 'newbie'...
