Hi
I am new to this field. I have invented 3 different kinds of educational puzzle for children aged 4-6. Big problem is I have spent quite a lot on manufacturing 2700 boxes of each kind. Now I dont know how to market/sell it. I would go for evaluation/licensing normally if I havent manufactured them. But I still keep that as an option if the manufactured items are not sold anywhere. Please help me here.

Hi Teebi,
Welcome to the forums. My first suggestions would be to contact Blue Opal games in Aus/NZ, alternatively Alex Toys may be interested and help you with distribution. Hav you contacted either of these. Do you have a web site selling them yet?

Do I have to form a company first and start a website before contacting any distributors?

I would'nt say it is necessary to form a company and web site if you are looking at taking the licensing route. If you get in contact with some companies already selling or distributing similar product to yours then they will most likely ask to see some sales samples. If they like what they see chances are they will either take the current stock you have or take the idea, get them manufactureed by their own manufacturing companies and pay you a pre-agreed royalty. This is the easiest way to go and the company will have established distribution networks in place. Just a word of warning though, if you take the licensing route you are likely to be offered a small percentage of sales (3-6% is common). They may negotiate favourable terms on the stock you already have but might also choose to use their own brand packaging and scrap what you have. Either way it is a better option than going it alone I would have thought?
You might also want to consider a website and trying to secure a web site name preferably with teh name of your toy in if it is available and unique. This is something else you can trade with when making negotiations with the company if they like the name you have used for the products. If you have no luck with ompanies at least you have a outlet to start the ball rolling. We are always happy to put links on our home page aswell should you need it.
Cheers,

According to me You should first contact Alex Toys may be interested and help you with the distribution. You don't need to form any company, You just need to have some idea and discussion with the famous companies in game industries like doom and destiny and many more like Instant-gaming
